Cycling for Libraries with Love and Passion! Cycling for libraries is an annual international advocacy tour and an unconference for cycling librarians and library lovers. This year we were proud to present a four-day local tour in the East of Belgium. The tour is finished now, but the story goes on, told by other people in other places, but with the same passion and conviction: libraries are so important! Spread the word, share the message! It was... A Belgian tour to the core: invented by foreign powers and, with a little help from American and French allies, co-created by librarians and library lovers from all three of the country’s official language communities. Communities that know each other too little and have separate media, culture and library policies. It was... an adventure in the best Cycling for Libraries tradition: an international bicycle unconference and library advocacy tour, crossing language borders and connecting different countries, bringing together librarians FROM and IN the Dutch, French and German speaking parts of Belgium, so they could get to know each other and share experiences with international colleagues. We were inspired by our country motto: 'Unity makes strength'. We believe this to be true on many levels. Hence our motto for this tour: ‘United we bike’. Cycling for Libraries Belgium: the movie
